Una riflessione sul ritorno della vita e sull’effetto che le azioni di ognuno possono avere sul prossimo in Circuit, della svizzera Delia Hess. In un piccolo mondo ideale, tutto è circolare e ogni evento segue il suo ciclo perpetuo, come ad esempio un pesce compie sempre lo stesso viaggio dalla nascita alla morte.

Si assiste ad una doppia rinascita in Cazatalentos, di José Herrera, quando un talent scout ormai dimenticato torna sulla scena con una meravigliosa ballerina di flamenco che… Non è esattamente come appare!

Una lacrima potrebbe scendere di fronte alla tenacia di un robottino in Toucher les Étoiles, di Mathilde Beaudet e Felix Caouette. La caparbietà con cui insegue il suo sogno riesce a smuovere la commozione più sincera.

“Patrick, look. It’s fake!” Questa è una delle battute della protagonista nel corto in stop motion Inanimate di Lucia Bulgheroni ed è anche la frase più indicativa: non capita tutti i giorni di accorgersi di vivere in un mondo costruito, ma quando capita…

La più profonda tenerezza è raggiunta in Vs. Santa, di Aitor Herrero e Raul Colomer. Quando si parla dei desideri dei bambini, infatti, non bisogna farsi ingannare dalle apparenze: spesso alla felicità non si può attribuire una forma unica e definita!

Joanna Polak, dalla Polonia, nel suo Wełniaki immagina un mondo fatto di lana. Mette in scena una storia divertente e originale, che cela però un significato più attuale. Il suo mondo, come quello reale, è infatti il risultato del lavoro dei suoi due abitanti e dell’amore che loro gli dedicano.

A metà strada tra il tragico e il (molto) comico è il corto Hors Piste, di Léo Brunel, Loris Cavalier, Camille Jalabert e Oscar Mallet. Uno sventurato sciatore ha un incidente in alta quota, due maldestri soccorritori arriveranno in suo aiuto. Molto apprezzato è il riferimento al film 2001: Odissea nello Spazio in una delle scene!

Macaron Love, di Chen Jun-Hao (dal Taiwan), ci mostra come un gesto inaspettato possa appianare anche una forte discussione. Basta avere un pensiero d’amore!

Inseguire un sogno e viverlo può essere difficile. L’ex astronauta in Sans Gravité, di Charline Parisot, Jérémy Cissé, Fioretta Caterina Cosmidis, Flore Allier, Maude Lamaître-Banchart e Ludovic Abraham, troverà molte difficoltà a riambientarsi nella vita di tutti i giorni dopo averlo realizzato.

Infine, Sacrées Nonnes di Anissa Beddiaf, Edwige Bellin, Lucie Fillon, Perrine Lemonnier, Zacharia Mekideche, Léa Mourad e Armelle Roy mostra in chiave umoristica il volto nascosto e controverso di chi non fa ciò che predica.

Una selezione di cui godere la visione con leggerezza, con gli occhi spensierati di un bambino, ma allo stesso tempo con lo sguardo attento a cogliere le note più importanti in mezzo alla spassosa melodia in sottofondo.

In Circuit, Swiss director Delia Hess gives us the chance to ponder on the return of life and the effects that one’s action can have on someone else. In a tiny ideal world, everything is circular, and every single event follows its perpetual cycle – just like a fish that keeps going on the same journey from birth until death.

José Herrera’s Cazatalentos lets us take part in a double comeback. A long-forgotten talent scout is given a second chance when he meets an astounding flamenco dancer… but things are not exactly as they seem!

One could even shed a tear while watching a tenacious robot in Toucher les Étoiles by Mathilde Beaudet and Felix Caouette. His stubbornness in following his dream has the ability to be deeply touching.

The Polish Joanna Polak imagines a woolly world in her short animation Wełniaki. She stages a funny and original story in which lies quite a modern moral. Her world, just like the real one, is actually the result of the hard work and the profound nurturing love of its two inhabitants.

Halfway between drama and comedy, Hors Piste is the short film presented by Léo Brunel, Loris Cavalier, Camille Jalabert and Oscar Mallet. An unlucky skier has a high altitude accident, and two clumsy rescuer will come to his aid. The reference to the motion picture 2001: Space Odyssey in one of the scenes deserves a special mention.

Macaron Love by Taiwanese Chen Jun-Hao demonstrates how an unexpected gesture could ease even the hardest fight. All it takes is a love gesture!

Chasing and living a dream is not as easy as it seems. Charline Parisot, Jérémy Cissé, Fioretta Caterina Cosmidis, Flore Allier, Maude Lamaître-Banchart and Ludovic Abraham are the authors behind Sans Gravité, a short animation that tells the story of a former astronaut who experiences the hardships of getting back to his everyday life after he fulfilled his dream.

Lastly, Sacrées Nonnes by Anissa Beddiaf, Edwige Bellin, Lucie Fillon, Perrine Lemonnier, Zacharia Mekideche, Léa Mourad and Armelle Roy depicts with fine humour the hidden and controversial truth of those who do not act as they preach. This selection of short pictures is one to watch both light-heartedly, as a child would do, and with a keen eye able to catch all the deepest notes scattered around the funny harmonies.
