Una rete di fili invisibili che ci unisce, connettendoci gli uni alle altre, come mani e braccia che si stringono in un abbraccio virtuale: sono le connessioni che vogliamo celebrare nella ventesima edizione del DFF, che si terrà dal 22 al 27 settembre presso il Dream Cinema di Frosinone.

Queste connessioni sono le stesse che, anno dopo anno, continuano a crescere e ad ampliare l’impalcatura invisibile che sostiene il nostro festival. Un festival che è fatto di persone, e che senza relazioni umane e sociali non avrebbe senso di esistere, perché è proprio, nell’amicizia, nella collaborazione e nella condivisione che il Dieciminuti Film Festival affonda le sue radici, ed è in queste connessioni che trova l’energia e l’entusiasmo per continuare a crescere.

L’anno in cui il DFF celebra il suo ventesimo anniversario è testimone di una situazione globale in cui non solo le connessioni sociali ma anche quelle storiche e politiche rischiano di spezzarsi e di essere cancellate, mandando in frantumi gli sforzi fatti per crearle e rafforzarle; per questo abbiamo deciso di celebrarle ufficialmente nel nostro ventennale, perché le relazioni che abbiamo creato in questi anni sono tante e meritano di essere riconosciute: sono quelle che si sono create tra noi – chi lavora dietro le quinte del Dieciminuti – ma anche tra noi e il pubblico, tra noi e gli ospiti, tra pubblico e pubblico, tra ospiti e ospiti, tra ospiti e pubblico. E ognuna di queste connessioni è una storia a sé che merita di essere raccontata, come quelle dei corti che prenderanno vita sullo schermo durante le serate del festival.

Anche quest’anno abbiamo selezionato cortometraggi provenienti da ogni angolo del mondo, che raccontano spaccati di vita, esperienze individuali e collettive, espressione delle emozioni e delle sensazioni più soggettive o specchio dei contesti storici, politici e culturali in cui prendono forma, attraversando tutti i generi, dalla commedia al drammatico, dal crime al comico, passando per il metacinematografico e il grottesco. Tutte queste storie, diversissime tra loro nella loro individualità, se messe in dialogo tra loro creano una rete di punti di vista, sguardi e prospettive che ci restituiscono uno spaccato sfaccettato e caleidoscopico della contemporaneità.

Non ci resta, allora, che invitarvi ufficialmente dal 22 al 27 settembre presso il Dream Cinema di Frosinone, per sei serate di cinema, eventi e ospiti internazionali, in cui continuare a conoscere – e a conoscerci – e ad esplorare la realtà che ci circonda. 

DFF is back for its twentieth anniversary 

A web of invisible threads that bind us together, connecting us to one another, like the hands and arms of old friends that meet in a virtual embrace. These are the connections we are hoping to celebrate for the twentieth Edition of DFF, from 22^nd to 27^th September at the Dream Cinema in Frosinone.  

These connections continue to grow year after year, reaffirming and strengthening the invisible foundations of our festival. A festival made of people, because without these human connections it would have no reason to exist. Friendship, collaboration and sharing are the pillars of DFF, and it is within these connections and the enthusiasm of the people behind it that it finds the momentum to keep growing. 

The year that marks DFF’s twentieth anniversary is a period of uncertainty in which social, historical and political connections risk being featured or erased, disintegrating every effort that was ever made to create them and strengthen them. For this reason we decided to celebrate connections on our twentieth anniversary. Over all these years we have created so many connections worth recognising: those that were born between us, working behind the scenes at the Festival, between us and the audience, between us and our guests, between our guests and the audience, between our guests, and within the audience itself. Each and every one of these bonds is its own story worthy of being told, just like the short films that will entertain us every night of the Festival. 

Once again this year we have selected short films from every corner of the globe. They capture stories of everyday life, of personal and collective experiences, and that express individual emotions or mirror the historical, political and cultural contexts in which they were born. The programme includes every genre: from comedy to drama, crime to satire, from meta-cinema to the grotesque. All these stories, each of them unique in their individuality, give life to a variety of perspectives that mirror the multifaceted and kaleidoscopic nature of the contemporary world.
